Yes it does smell HORRIBLE. Kind of like burnt rubberI put mine outside on a covered deck for almost a month before the smell dissipated. Seriously, you could not keep that item in your closet it smelled so awful.

I buy a lot of stuff from SLC. A LOT. And it is a crap shoot. Some of it is great, some of it is sooo not great. I write a review on every purchase I make, good or bad.
