The TLV ring would need a special style of ring guard, for instance one that is shaped to go around the stone. Like my attachment shows.

My understanding is that unless it says 'untreated' and/or 'natural' then you can assume the stone has been treated. Go here, look for your stone and you'll see the various treatments:

I think sometimes we get pieces which don't have enough of the plating on them...skimpy plating. Then it just tarnishes as if there was no plating at all. Most of my stuff is in antitarnish boxes. But if I know a piece has been plated then I get lax about putting in back it back in the box and then ...

I think triplet stones look best when they are put in a bezel setting. That way the layers are concealed. Nicky Butler did that with many of his pieces. It would be nice to see SLC use more bezel settings for their triplets especially for the larger stones.

About an hour before it went on air I went online to see if it was there and it was. The price was $29.99 long before it went up as the
TLV. So as they were presenting it, I knew beforehand what the final price was going to be. ..no surprise.

If you like that mint, pale green kind of color then look at JTV's lab created green spinel. I bought a pair of lab created green spinel studs from them and I love the color! It's so fresh looking and sparkles, too.

It's been my experience with prasiolite where you almost have to get a large stone to see any substantial color. I mean stones that are at least 4 or more carats. Otherwise most of them have very little color and appear grayish, not green at all. Looks like that upcoming TLV round-cut ring is over 5...
