it's racially charged is all. some folks are offended by it and others arent. i am of the camp that words carry the weight we afford them...that being said i am certainly not gonna run around saying things that may be offensive. sometimes its just a simple thing as some things matter to some people and some things dont. I have had native americans say that anything I do to relate/or call out any of the relatives that i have in my family tree with native blood, as me culurally appropriating. OK ...to each their own. I just happen to be proud of my Scots/native/Okie background. I have learned to not be offended at peoples offense. Being offended, and angry takes too much energy anyways. We all have very different backgrounds and experiences. I still like to believe we have more in common than we have different.
