Regarding tax on shipping for the love of God!

Sales tax is REQUIRED to be charged on shipping if the shipping charge is listed separately on the invoice from the cost of the item--
UNLESS YOU LIVE IN THE FOLLOWING STATES:

Alabama
Arizona
California
Idaho
Iowa
Louisiana
Maine
Maryland
Massachusetts
Nevada
Oklahoma
Utah
Virginia
Wyoming

If you live in any other state you are SOL Note: Some states do not charge tax on shipping for Clothing purchases

I guess I'm lucky that I live in California. My tax rate is 7.75% and my invoices show that it is only collected on the final sale price of the item. Considering gas in our area is close to $4/gal, the S&H fee is quite reasonable for me.

I hear you! I live in Washington and where I live in the sales tax is 10%. Now if some folks would figure out that is not SLC's idea to charge tax on shipping I would be a happy camper. That being said being charged tax on the original price of an item before a discount is applied is another matter altogether and should never happen.
