@@Shop4joy - I'm glad that you are going to the ER to meet with your doctor. I pray your temperature will subside with fluids or whatever the doctor prescribed. I'm glad you are being seen. It's the people who don't monitor their temps that don't do well so I'm proud you are being proactive. You are on powerful meds - so it's vital. Please keep us posted and I've said prayers and will continue my prayers for your FAST recovery.

Shop4Joy, I was posting the above when my post was stopped to read your latest post. Continued prayers. Stay strong, fight it, my warrior sister. You will be home again. This is just a bump....you can handle it and will get well. Prayers going up!!!

@Rolltide - Gilead Sciences is very well-known respected and a research-based pharmaceutical company like Abbott Labs who are also medical devices, diagnostic tools, and nutritional products like Ensure, Gycerna, Murine, where I used to work, but much smaller - smaller doesn't mean small - it's massive.

In my experience with feeding cats, I used to feed all my cats only dry food Iams and they lived to be old age cats with few physical problems. I never fed them wet food.

The newborn litter I adopted, my vet told me to start them on wet fancy feast, since they didn't have mama's milk, even though I bottle fed them, when they were old enough to hold up their heads. They have been on fancy feast wet (am & pm) and dry food their entire lives. I've lost four kitties due to diabetes and cancer before the age of 12. My cats now have symptoms of slowing down significantly at age 13 almost 14. My cats that lived to be 17, 19, 21 and 23 were still active up until they died. I personally believe that the fancy food is junk food and not that good. They will not eat anything else after expensive foods, grain free, from every brand have been bought.

Also the treats I give them has to be crap too.

@Gypsy

To make Heaven the purrrfect resting place for loved ones we adore,

God made sure those Pearly Gates contained a kitty door.💞

I no longer have a kitty...🥺

But do have two large dogs.

I feed them a high quality grain free dry and mix it with “wet” food I make myself.

Ground turkey
Cranberries (sometimes I use blueberries)
Pumpkin purée

Cooked until the berries begin to break down.

Mixed with dry and a bit of applesauce with carrot and strawberry mixed in. (Organic Applesauce, carrot, s.berry pouches from Costco)

It has literally taken YEARS off my older dog, Cleo’s age!

RS, I'm sorry you lost your kitty😢

It sounds like your entire family is being well cared for by you, including feathered & furry! Think I would eat your home-made addition (minus the dry base part)!😋

If I ever get another cat - I will only give dry food. But I doubt I will get another cat after my current babies are gone. I will do something - but not own again... my plan anyway. I may volunteer or something to get my pet fix.
