Miami blue welo opal

Post by anniebelle » 3 years ago

Don't think I have ever heard of this. I love welo opal, and I love blue gems. Experts, is this something I need? Looking at the program guide, it looks really pretty!

@anniebelle They are dyed I believe, they said the treatment is permanent. The Tenn. station has been doing blue and pink ones for a couple of years now, I am assuming it is the same type of treatment.

I believe they are opals with little or no color play that they dye to make them more appealing. Another network sells Welp opals that are dyed or smoked ( to give appearance that they are black).

What a disappointment if this Miami blue welo Opal is dyed. If they want to sell blue opal, what about Peruvian blue opal also called Andean opal. It’s natural.

They do sell the Peruvian blue opal, and the pink opal as well.
