Re: Smackdown
"Regular" Tanzanite or "Peacock"?
Does anyone know if the "value" of Peacock Tanzanite is the same as the Blue-Violet?
I know it's based on rarity (and preference) but just wondering.
I'm a person who loves the different colors of gray in clothing etc., and I like the part of the Peacock's "gray" tone.

Re: Smackdown
This is my opinion:
When you see a tanzanite rough you can see there is more than the blue-violet color we all love. There is brown, gray and a sort of green color. The blue-violet is the most sought after color in that rough. The stuff around it is what I think they are marketing as peacock. Very smart name as they know how popular peacocks are, especially amongst the shoppers here.
So essentially it is the trimmings of the rough made into a blended color stone.
I see it as not as valuable and actually didn’t see a whole lot of dynamic color like you would associate with anything called “peacock”

Re: Smackdown
Although I have a few pieces of green tanzanite I honestly prefer the deep dark violet blue color for my tanzanite jewelry.

Remember when they sold bondi blue tanzanite. Wonder whatever happened to that color. I have two beautiful line bracelets, a ring and necklace..
