I, myself, have quite a bit of black spinel. Back when you could find it on interesting styles and designs, most with other gemstones. I did gift my daughter a pretty spinel bracelet. She broke it on her first wearing.

She is rough and tends to be careless. She wants these things but just doesn’t seem to want to care for them properly. She actually asked to borrow one of my AAAA tanzanite rings to wear to a wedding. I had to say no. And I actually couldn’t believe she asked me.
I told her to wear one of her own tanzanite pieces that I gave her instead.
