Loose Gemstones

Post by Lulu » 2 years ago

I rarely buy a loose stone due to the hassle of having to find a setting. Saw a green tourmaline for sale at $24.99 and a nice ring size at 9x7mm and 1.82 ct. It arrived and it was a beautiful mint green which I have been wanting for years. The great part is it is mint green indoors; but, in the sun it turns deeper and looks paraiba blue! It's stunning and eye clean which is pretty phenomenal for tourmaline. Bought a chocolate sapphire ring set in vermeil and switched out the stones. It is gorgeous.

I am one happy camper!

@Lulu That sounds very nice, I like tourmaline. I have a few items I got from the J channel that was pretty clear but it is on the pricy side, I bet it looks beautiful in the sunlight.

Switching out the stones was such a Great idea !!! It sounds like a really nice stone and it sounds like you got a nice mount to feature the stone ---and it was probably at a Good price as well!!! Toumaline is an Expensive gem! And Mounts can be Very Pricey!!!

I’m hoping that they start carrying semi-mounts.
I like picking out my stone and choosing the setting.
I’m tired of always having zircon or topaz accent
stones. It just looks too much like bridal jewelry.
The clean, classic looks really appeal to me.
What does everyone else want LC to start carrying?

I am with you on that spooky. I find single stone jewelry contemporary and very appealing. Not everything has to be blingy.
