LADIES and GENTLEMEN....Michele bragged on Tony's Achievements & Honorable Assets! It was very cool

Post by MaeWest1953 » 3 months ago

:D Good afternoon to all Members.....

I am watching Tony and Michele right now and about 25 minutes ago Michele did a wonderful speech about Tony and his reputation!
She hit the nail on the head, explaining various attributes of how he does a honorable business with all Clients etc.
Everything she stated would be a gauge for what you want in a personal Jeweler and all things Jewels ;)

He showed us the new book that has been printed in Brasil, he is inside and he shared the several pages of his article that included photos of him and the Jewels (which were so gorgeous!)

Hi FarmMom.....

For the life of me I can't remember and I watched him again later in the evening and he showed it again
So if you have time try and catch his next show cause I am pretty sure he will have it with him

That book is substantial, lots of pages and the title had something to do with perhaps "The Stones of Brasil"
I remember him saying it was in Portuguese maybe??
Hope you can see it, I think he said it wasn't available to the United States

Off topic but…If anyone is interested in a book on Tanzanite they have one called “Tanzanite Born from Lightning”that they showed the other night and looks very nice and it’s priced right, on Amazon it’s $20 more.

Hmm . . . it seems rather convenient that it's both in Portuguese and only available in Brazil . . . what would be the point? The number of Brazillians that can afford to buy a book and desire to read about gemstones would be quite small . . . And with his supposed worldwide influence, it would seem the most logical to produce it in English and sell it on Shop LC like Dan does :?

If you are going to all that effort, you want to get PAID for it. It can take years to put together a research book such as one on gemstones, and frankly the few meager souls in Brazil would not even cover the costs of an editor . . .

I don't know Mae . . . it just strikes me as odd ;)

I don’t know there are a lot of mines, miners, jewelers, lapidarys in Brazil and in the Mozambique areas (they speak Portuguese) I had some co workers that had worked in the mines in South America and they were very knowledgeable on gemstones and mining and always had what I would say was money to spare. Believe it or not their is no shortage of rock hounds or gem enthusiasts all over the world, even in places that you might think are not as well off as the US.

Good day FarmMom and Bella!

Reading your comments raise some good questions :)
I do recall Michele bugging Tony every time he showed the book and that she wants an autographed copy of it :)
He was sort of ignoring her which I don't like but later explained about it being in Brazil only

I have always known that many stones do come from the far away countries because a couple of Teachers in high school bringing in their collections and I recall that I was amazed at the cool colors!
Can you imagine what their collections would be like today :o

It does seem interesting too that so many stones are being discovered in third world countries :)
Can you imagine what it must be like to be there when you strike the find....

This is true, and so very sad . . . sooooo many stunning gemstones are only available in the poorest of the poor countries, and these people who find them get next to nothing for their work. Investors come in and take everything. I do applaud Tanzania for at least attempting to remedy that sort of scenario, but it's like trying to patch a dam with duct tape . . .

And it happens Mae! About 3 years ago a Tanzanian miner found 2 huge pieces of Tanzanite rough the largest ever found and ended up building a school and a local shopping mall as a new business venture. The rough was worth over 3 million dollars. The government paid him for his find. It’s on You Tube if anyone is interested.
