This may sound silly, but IF they remove the forum, I will not shop here anymore.

There's already been enough straws...
and that would be the last one for me

It might not be end of the forum, but maybe they want to "purge" the topics and posts they don't like, :?: JMO
Agree. Sounds like they’re going to do some
creative editing

who knows what kind of maintenance must go on, too big
for me to comprehend. I have noticed for the longest time
that the pages only go up to 100 and I have wondered if
after the page gets to 100 does it just go off into cyber
space? There has to be someway to keep the whole thing
running smoothly, and who would go back and read what
what going on 4 months ago? I think that I went back on
my chronological statements to the time I first posted almost
three months ago.

Most, if not all, forums in the grown-up internet world keep their posts going back for what seems like years. I have no idea how or where they store all the data, but they do! In fact, many times when I've done a google search, one of the links will take me to a forum where someone asked a question and the date has been at least as far back as 2009. How's that for library cataloging, LOL.

Perhaps, though, those forums are more knowledge-based setups so it kinda makes sense in that case to keep all the data for reference. I suppose here it would only work for topics such as gem identification or how-to or some such topic. It's a bit frustrating, tho, to not be able to go back and find a particular post where you just know some issue or topic was raised and you want to go back and see exactly what was said. Oh well.

scoobydoo, i just did go back to check if older pages with
threads/topics come up. when i looked at my chronological
posts, back to my first, i clicked on it and the whole topic and
other posts came up even though it is older than the 100th
page currently displayed.

so if you knew someone who's currently posting, and who's
topic was of interest, click on their little bubble where it
shows how many times that they posted and their chronological
thread will come up, scroll hunting for the subject on yer mind,
click and the whole page with all comments will come up.

i did not find the old news interesting, it's a chore to even
considering all the topics and comments and i don't think that
i can bear to do it. i hafta go rest my brain just trying to tell
ya that you could go back to the beginning.
