Countdown clock

Post by Blossom » 4 years ago

Can't help but wonder why the countdown clock on live-tv? No one ever abides by it. Sometimes during a very looooong presentation of the same item I change channels, check back...Yay, the clock is up & auction is about to end!...not. Unless an item quickly sells out there will always be some 'jumping on the line' (their excuse for extended clock) & then that same auction, after multiple clocks, continues to go on & on & on & on...............so what's the purpose of that clock?

i know Blossom, well said.
it's always "Awe please, can we have more time
on the clock?" And they get it and the producer
is a great guy and then they might work on that
item a even longer.
It was not till I heard Cheryl say many times
during those added minutes ( "I'M NOT TRYING TO
PRESSURE ANYBODY!!" ) did I realize it is
a pressure tactic. The other hosts have always
seemed to keep under wraps what Cheryl spouts
out about, kinda like her own worst enemy.
I can say that I have never seen the hosts seem
unhappy at work. They must be making the sales.
Though again, Cheryl might have let on a time or
two and say "WELL, YOU'RE NOT OUT THERE, WE'RE
MOVIN' ON!"
I used to be well enough to go out shopping. It had
become so convenient to have things come to my
door. Being established at SLC had always been great.
Over the years, tactics have changed at SLC
that make the other shopping channels and
the brick and mortars' downtown look great. This
community forum has such great good natured,
shoppers and I am not aiming to take too many Kudos
away from SLC.
just sayin'

Thanks so much for your feedback. Initially you are correct the clock was meant to signify the end of the auction is nearing. I will be sharing this feedback with our team!

100% AGREE!!!!! Don't put up a clock unless you're going to abide by it!

It keeps getting worse, they do not want to move on until sell out. Sometimes I say out loud " God I hope people buy this soon so they will move on to the next item" I swear the host are getting a bonus if the item sells out, why else would they be pushing so hard to sell an item? It is like they are forcing us into buying, it makes the host and Shop Lc look desperate! They never use to do this a year ago. I am pretty sick of it, I go watch and buy from other shopping networks when they do this. HEY SHOP LC THE OTHER SHOPPING NETWORKS WANT TO THANK YOU FOR MY BUSINESS!!!
