Is fire opal supposed to sparkle ?

Good quality fire opal displays color play like other precious opal. It's expensive and I only see it occasionally on GSN.

@Gemsnob Hi! I thought the only fire opal that shows rainbow is the Mexican jelly fire opal, which is just a different variety found in that mine? It is no longer mined in Mexico because they lost the vein.

That's probably why I've only seen it on GSN . They sell estate jewelry so that makes sense.

Well, was not sure on that, is just what I thought. I love those Mexican jelly ones too. Hoping to purchase one sometime. Lots of doc apts right now, so maybe as a celebration thing further along when I have more time and money to devote. lol
