Yes, I know what you mean
I'd be reluctant to bid too high.. not knowing the real value.
Anyway, that is some collection..how could you pick a favorite
With so many beauties.
Do you have a favorite?
Which gem?

Very nice collection ! Spotted what looks like some pretty tourmaline. I like rings and pendants but earrings are my "thing" I dont care if I'm not going anywhere, I have multiple piercings and I put earrings on first thing everyday...big dangles , hoops or studs...doesn't matter -Gypsy

Rolltide wrote: ↑3 years agoI was born in October, and my birth stones are tourmaline and opal. I probably can never afford to own all of the varieties of these. What you read are varieties of tourmaline. When tourmaline has a certain amount of red in it, it is called rubellite. When it has a certain amount of blue in it, it is called indicolite. The only variety I don't own that is more rare is pariaiba (don't know how to spell that lol) tourmaline, and you won't believe this, but I don't like it, don't like the paler color. I like the more saturated colors. Tourmaline comes in every color of the rainbow, and then some. There are many more opals I don't own. There is peach, yellow, blue, boulder, black, etc.
I bought a paraiba tourmaline once but sent it back, couldn't see spending the money for it when I didn't really like it. I have seen one I did like once, on the Q, was the deepest in color I've seen. But it was only a cluster ring, and probably would cost a fortune to own a solitaire in it.
