RS,
Sounds like a lovely afternoon. California is such a gorgeous State, as you know, it offers everything.
By the way, you mentioned a town. You meant “Shungite” Town, didn’t you?

Re: To the mountains...
A long time ago I lived on Old Oregon Trail with Mt.Lassen and Mt. Shasta in my back yard. So I kinda know where you are. Gorgeous country! Sorry about your folks, 4 years is not a long time. Even though we are at 2,500 feet, we're thinking of moving higher, starting to get neighbors. Thanks for answering

Oh, you more than know. Old Oregon Trail is just up the street. At that intersection now there’s a round-a-bout! Although that’s a long road.Sam wrote: ↑4 years agoA long time ago I lived on Old Oregon Trail with Mt.Lassen and Mt. Shasta in my back yard. So I kinda know where you are. Gorgeous country! Mt. Shasta is out my front upstairs windows and Mt Lassen is out my upstairs East facing windows. The one we call “back yard mountain” actually Shasta Bally is out our West facing windows.
We call that back yard mountain because our first house the view from the back yard was Shasta Bally.
Thank you about my parents, it’s not easy. They passed less than two weeks apart.
2500’ is already pretty high. Here at my house we are at about 900.
